I pretty much believe that others will go to Heaven, but as for me I seem to be disconnected from that circuit somehow. It's strange. I'm still trying to answer the question for myself of 'where will I go?'

I can't seem to believe in a God for myself, but I don't have issues with the Christian culture around me. There's just a fine line sometimes and when people cross it, it gives me the heebie jeebies. Thankfully, a ton of people seem to be truly accepting of homosexuality.

And I think I've almost worked out what "God" means to me. When I mentally replace my idea into what others say about God, it seems to fit, so I'm on the right path. More soul-searching is needed on my part.Dae Dreamshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00145573291913964537noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2432589953859933288.post-25104392281733647292012-01-16T09:31:30.350-05:002012-01-16T09:31:30.350-05:00Oh, hey I wasn't even expecting comments on th...Oh, hey I wasn't even expecting comments on this entry.

"I grew up in a Christian home and never questions God's existence until I was older. I think all of...Thank you for sharing this with us. I think all of us go through questioning the existence of God. It is part of growing older.

I was raised in a Christian household, and I always believed in God. When I reached my 20's, I began to question. I even became atheist for several years. However, I eventually started to find my faith again. My Mom died in September, and it is hard for me to think that she went no where. If there is a Heaven, I can guarantee my mother is there.

I will say that my faith is not the same as it was. I don't believe that everything is a sin. I feel that the rules churches make are often designed to control you. I certainly don't believe that homosexuality is going to send you to hell. If there is a God, and you were born homosexual, I would assume God made you that way. Makes sense to me.

Everyone will believe something different. You just have to figure it out for yourself. It will take time. There is nothing wrong with that.Mary Ellen Quigleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02679719500257202397noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2432589953859933288.post-2135530699219979742012-01-13T20:45:49.972-05:002012-01-13T20:45:49.972-05:00Wow. Thank you so much for sharing such personal feelings and thoughts with us.

I grew up in a Christian home and never questions God's existence until I was older. My mother claims to be Christian but is the most closed-minded, judgmental person I know. We don't speak anymore.

I still believe in God. But I have a hard time understanding why things are the way they are in this world. I have doubts. But at the same time, I know He's there. I don't know how to explain that any better.

I do not in any way consider you or anyone else who doesn't have the same beliefs as I do as "less than." My husband doesn't exactly believe in anything...he believes in something bigger and stronger than all of us, but something more like a force of nature than God. I love him, and we have many conversations about it. During which I don't try to "convert" him or preach to him in anyway. We just have intelligent conversations.

As far as homosexuality, I hope you truly believe me when I say that I do not think you (or any others) are going to hell. I believe my God loves you the same way he loves me. I do not wish to "convert" anyone to be straight. I don't think you're wrong or disgusting. And I despair in the way this country treats homosexuals. I don't understand the whole marriage thing. Two people love each other. Period. End of story. They deserve the same rights - in marriage and adoption and land ownership. Everything, and it pisses me off that some people seem to get off on taking those rights away from you just because you aren't like them (collective you, there)

I could go further, but this is your post, not mine. :) I again applaud your brutal honesty, and I'm glad I read your blog tonight. I think I'm going to bookmark this post because it's so beautiful in its truth...and thought provoking for everyone.April Plummerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12000526454256802504noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2432589953859933288.post-25615966740065661172011-12-13T14:15:36.100-05:002011-12-13T14:15:36.100-05:00I wanted to find something positive to cheer a fri...I wanted to find something positive to cheer a friend. But I really don't understand all of the stupid terms they keep coming out with. I think they are meant to intentionally be confusing! Never again will I complain about misinformed voters or political speakers - unless they are REALLY making an obvious mistake, or should know better. It's just way too confusing, and I'm sure that certain people have done their best to make it that way. Personally, I think I could only base my politicalness on individual issues. Long fingernails + tender flesh = NO!! Not cool. But they were okay because they were so thick and blunt. Now my nails feel really brittle and sharp in comparison. But I will admit that I had to turn away from a Saw movie more than once because of the loving detail (scene when the doctor drilled into Jigsaw's head, and scene with a man's limbs being rotated until they broke were especially bad for me). One thing that always squicks me out is fingernail torture - having them ripped off, or when a victim claws at the floor/wall in a horror film. sfgsjgdsslglgs!!Dae Dreamshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00145573291913964537noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2432589953859933288.post-73356633210184800512011-06-29T14:52:57.959-04:002011-06-29T14:52:57.959-04:00I wish I could say that I understand what you are ...I wish I could say that I understand what you are going through, but since I am heterosexual, I don't. I think that the biggest discrimination in the US right now is against homosexuals and obese people (which would be me). Sad, but true. These two groups of people are considered an "acceptable" prejudice. I think that society will slowly begin to change, as you can already see some changes being made. Yet, there will always be those who discriminate. It's horrible, and it makes me angry. I personally don't understand why there is such a big debate over gay marriage. Just let people who love each other get married! I mean, who is it really going to hurt? People are crazy. They need to grow up and quit being scared of change.Mary Ellen Quigleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02679719500257202397noreply@blogger.com
